I Still Prefer Soundgarden To Nirvana

Like so many people, I remember exactly where I was, 17 years ago today, when I heard that Kurt Cobain had died: I was listening to the radio, hearing someone on the radio tell me that Kurt Cobain had died.

Sorry to sound crass but...

Kurt Cobain was massively overated and if he hadn't died in such a tragic way we would talking about him in the same light as Pavement or Sonic Youth and not some sort of Jesus Christ figure.

Early suicide will do wonders for your career. Just ask Jeff Buckley.

I do too! Chris Cornell has the most amazing voice live. You can't beat him http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LX-oiR9LJik&feature=share
Knowing that Soundgarden have reformed has just about cancelled out his dodgy Timbaland phase.

Cobain was good in his own way, but his suicide eclipsed his talent. If he lived, the band would have imploded and he'd be nothing.

I still think that Soundgarden, Pearl Jam and Alice in Chains were much better than Nirvana - which is shown by their longevity...

Nirvana fucking sucks, especially if compared to Soundgarden

Nirvana are talentless.
Please, don't compare them with Soundgarden. It's like comparing overrated garbage (which is what Nirvana is) with gold.

And Pearl Jam sucks too, shitty band.

Sonic Youth fucking sucks ass
